The first edition of the European and multilingual festival “Passa Porta” will welcome many authors of diverse European nationalities. Three days of meetings, parties and reflection to discover the world as revealed by literature.
Many interesting themes will be brought under the spotlight during the festival, including identity, integration, mobility and emigration.

19/04: Openingwith Antonio Muñoz Molina, a famous Spanish author.
20/04 : Writing Billie with the Brussels jazz Orchestra, Carl Norac, Joke van Leeuwen, Caryl Phillips, Tutu Puoane, Vamba Sherif, Andre´ Velter and Paul Verhaeghen.
21/04 : Cinema Racista with Thomas Gunzig, Moses Isegawa, Tom Lanoye, Shahrnush Parsipur, Eugène Savitzkaya and Frank Westerman.
22/04 : Courez lire : a literary circuit with a hundred activities all around Brussels.

Green light: Vamba Sherif
Encounter with an African writer and his work
Every month, and in collaboration with Green Light/KVS, Het Beschrijf gives the floor over to a different African writer. Sherif unveils his own history and the history of his country. He explores the place of African immigrants in The Netherlands, where he lives since 1993.
